If you’re new here, I’m the auction guy you probably saw on Insta or X. You may have downloaded my Auction Starter Guide with the lists of all the auction sites and tips on getting started.

Thanks for being here. Let's get right into it.

In this edition of the UE:

  • Don’t sell – Present the opportunity.
  • Overcoming Fear
  • You can just meet people

Let’s go!

One of the best ways to get help (and make money) is to lean into what you don’t know.

Here’s what I mean by this: I don’t really like to sell. I can’t stand trying to convince someone to buy from me, or that there’s value in what I am selling.

I want them to either see the value and buy or move on.

One way to do this is to invert the focus and discuss the opportunity rather than the sale.

This is where not knowing can be so helpful.

Asking “I have an opportunity, but I don’t know much about the (market, product, business, etc.), can open doors and lead to long-term relationships that make you rich."

Why?

Most people want to help others, especially when you approach them as a novice.

You are leveraging the natural human tendency to share knowledge to help others.

This novice outlook also removes the sales pressure. You are not approaching someone trying to sell; you are asking for information.

Ideally, what you want to happen is that the person sharing knowledge with you sees the opportunity and they say something like, “I would buy that product at this price.”

Try this tactic and let me know how it works for you. The key is to test it BEFORE you buy the product that you want to sell.

Use what you learn to determine a buy and sell price, and hopefully, attract a customer who sees the value and wants what you are selling.

Everyone battles fear. Everyone.

One thing I know to be true:

"The fear of failure is far worse than the actual failure."

Failure gives you data. Fear gives you excuses.

I expanded on this topic during a recent episode of the Business Brain podcast.

You can just meet people.

We had our second in-person Mastermind Meetup earlier this week. So great to connect with and talk about how these community members are building their businesses.

From members who are just getting started to million-dollar sellers, we had a great mix.

I will be announcing our next IRL Meetup soon in the Mastermind. Where should we go? Atlanta? Los Angeles? Florida?

Make your voice heard in the Reseller Mastermind, and I may be buying you dinner soon!

Have a productive and profitable week!
