I share tools to live an uncommon life. As a builder and Unconventional Entrepreneur, I’ve spent the last 25 years testing what works and cutting what doesn’t. This newsletter is where I share the real strategies, systems, and revenue streams that have created my uncommon life. If you’re building something of your own, you’re in the right place.

If you’re new here, I’m the auction guy you probably saw on Insta YouTube or X. You may have downloaded my Auction Starter Guide with the lists of all the auction sites and tips on getting started.

Thanks for being here Reader. Let's get right into it.

I walked back up to my office at 8:30 last night to keep working. It’s not a brag, it’s a blessing.

Being excited and motivated to get work done, rather than melting into the couch, fires me up.

Being surrounded by A players and working on projects that add value to people’s lives is a gift.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved in a handful of projects over the past 30 years that have made me feel this way.

Sharing my experiences about reselling and how it has been one of the tools to create our uncommon life has resonated with tens of thousands of people.

So, I don’t watch Netflix. I watch auctions.

It’s one of my favorite bits of hyperbole.

It’s over the top, of course, but there’s a lot of truth to that statement. Building something valuable takes time. A lot of time.

You must carve out that time in your life if you want to create something that will be life-changing for you.

I wanted to name one of our companies 10-to-Midnight since that was the two hours per day my wife and I had to spend each day to build it.

Before I agree to become an advisor to someone, I send them a batch of questions. One of the questions they must answer is this:

  • Achieving new things is hard. Creating something from nothing takes a lot of time.
  • How will you manage your time to ensure you don't neglect the people who care most for you?
  • Where will the time to succeed come from?

Learning how to Time-Shift is a crucial skill for success. Your spouse or significant other, kids, your “regular job” if you have one – all those essential parts of your life must be protected.

You also have to protect yourself. Your brain, your stress level, and your motivation to keep moving forward one step at a time.

This is why I don’t watch “Netflix," especially when I am ramping up and starting something new. That is the time I carve out to educate myself, to research, and to figure out whether my ideas will work.

I’m doing it now with my $5 Reseller Mastermind. I didn’t plan on starting a community, but I had a problem. I couldn’t answer all the questions coming in each day from people who were interested in my content and in learning about auctions and reselling.

First, I started a big Direct Message group, and it was good.

Until it wasn't.

Once we got over 100 members, it was chaos. I like chaos, but I could see there was no way to manage that many and to add value to their lives.

So I began studying online communities. And it was hard.

There are a lot of quick-to-set-up community solutions, but I wanted more: more features, more options, more depth.

I decided on Kajabi, and now I know it was the right decision. The learning curve was steeper, but the feature set is significantly more robust than most platforms.

And here we are, with 3,103 members who have built the Reseller Mastermind into a vibrant community where members help each other, along with a ton of tools and resources for new members to learn from.

I joked with my wife that the Mastermind has become my “after-dinner” business. Each day after dinner, I head back up the hillside to my office to learn and work on the community for a couple of hours.

This is my Time-Shift.

The point here is that managing your time is a key part of the system for success. You can do it, but not if you think you're just going to magically have more time in the day.

Be intentional and plan your time. Share your excitement and energy with the people who will be impacted by your need for 2-3 hours each day to start something new.

Get them on board with the possibilities of what you are creating. Bring them into your dream.

With their support, you are unstoppable. Without it, you will lose the energy your new idea needs to succeed.

Speaking of energy, my next project involves creating more video content. I am “embracing the cringe” of having a camera pointed at my face and sharing tips about reselling and auctions. So far, the energy is coming from me – once my audience starts to grow, I hope that energy is returned.

Come follow along as I unlock the auction and reseller treasure chest each day:

Have a profitable rest of the week!
