Should you sell big items or small items?
That depends on your unique situation. Here’s how to do both:
Don’t have much storage space?
I sold $3.7 million with four storage racks in my office.
You have plenty of space.
You just need the right product.
Here are the best small items to resell with limited space.
Handbags
Women go crazy over deals on bags.
You can make more profit selling used/vintage bags than new ones.
Handbags are lightweight and don’t take up much room.
Watches
Another emotional item to sell.
You can store $100K in watches in your desk drawer.
The key to this product category is extensive research.
Health and Beauty
When face cream costs $500 for a 2oz container, you know there’s money to be made.
Learn about expiration dates and study brands like La Mer.
Jewelry
Why do you think there are so many “We Buy Gold” stores online and IRL?
Find a niche in this market and own it.
Shoes
Sneakers, high heels, and designer boots.
Research the most popular sizes and only stock those.
Live selling has changed the game for shoes and apparel.
Hardware
Deals like this are hidden gems that you can store in your garage:
Don’t ignore “boring” categories.
Apparel
Only buy designer brands.
Even better: NFL, MLB, or NBA gear.
People go nuts over their teams, and branded gear always sells.
Did I mention how live selling has changed the game? I talk more about this today on the Chris Koerner podcast.
Toys
Learn the Lego game.
Seasonal arbitrage can make you rich.
These small package items can be stored anywhere.
Phones
Smartphones can be a golden ticket to building wealth.
Buy from companies like Samsung, GameStop, and others.
You will need to be agile to move inventory quickly.
Etsy
Take this concept and run with it.
You don’t need a warehouse to change your life.
Do research before buying. Start small and make mistakes as you learn. Ramp up as your knowledge increases.
But what about big stuff?
Having an unfair advantage can make you rich.
One advantage can be the ability to manage over-sized items for resale.
Members of our Reseller Mastermind make thousands selling couches, appliances, outdoor furniture, and more.
Here’s how they are doing it and how you can, too.
You need some.
But don’t rush out and rent a warehouse. You can get started in your garage or a storage unit.
You will want to get a Pallet Jack to move stuff around.
There’s a reason this stuff sells so cheap. You will often get items with scuffs or minor damage.
This is OK.
When you are selling at 50% off the Costco price, buyers understand this.
These big items sometimes arrive missing accessories, feet, or other items.
If you fall in love with problem-solving, profits will follow.
Most people are not good at this, which creates more opportunities for you.
Research how to buy these missing items and keep extras on hand.
This is a local business.
FB Marketplace is the number one venue to sell. Also, try Craigslist and eBay with local pickup.
This business is not all about home runs.
You will get good deals and not-so-good deals. The profits are averaged out over the long run.
Don’t get discouraged. Make mistakes, adjust, and keep moving forward.
Do you have what it takes to sell large items?
You won’t know until you do your research and get into the game.
What matters is learning, researching, and taking action every single day to change your life.
Have a profitable week!
